Getting started
How do I connect my TikTok account?
Click "Connect TikTok" in the navigation or on the dashboard. You'll be redirected to TikTok's official authorization page. After approving, you'll be brought back to your CuriosityLoop dashboard.
What TikTok permissions does CuriosityLoop request?
We request the minimum necessary scopes: basic profile information (user.info.basic) and the ability to publish videos (video.publish). We never request access to your messages, followers list, or analytics.
Do I need a TikTok creator account?
You need a TikTok account that is eligible to post videos. Creator accounts have additional capabilities that affect which publishing options are available.
Reviewing and publishing videos
Where do I see videos ready for review?
Go to Dashboard → Videos. All generated videos waiting for your review appear there with their status.
Can I edit the caption before publishing?
Yes. The review page lets you read and edit the proposed caption before approving the video.
What happens if I don't approve a video?
Nothing is posted. Videos stay in the review queue until you either approve or reject them. There is no automatic timeout or auto-publish.
Why is the Post button disabled?
The Post button stays disabled until: creator information has loaded successfully, you've selected a privacy level, required disclosure fields are completed (if applicable), and you've checked the consent checkbox.
What does 'processing' mean after I post?
After submission, TikTok processes the video on their end. This can take from a few seconds to several minutes. The status updates automatically.
Account & security
How do I disconnect my TikTok account?
Go to Dashboard → Settings and click 'Disconnect TikTok account'. This immediately revokes access and clears your session.
Is my TikTok password shared with CuriosityLoop?
No. We use TikTok's official OAuth flow (Login Kit). Your password is never sent to or stored by CuriosityLoop.
How are my tokens stored?
Access and refresh tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being stored in an HTTP-only session cookie. The encryption key is never exposed to the browser.
How do I request deletion of my data?
Email us with the subject 'Privacy Request' from your registered address. See our Privacy Policy for full details on your rights.
Troubleshooting
I get an error after connecting TikTok. What should I do?
Check the error page for a code. Common issues: the authorization expired (try again), or the TikTok credentials are not yet configured for this environment. Contact us if the problem persists.
Creator information won't load on the review page.
This usually means your access token has expired or TikTok's API is temporarily unavailable. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your account. If the problem continues, contact us.
My video shows 'failed' after posting.
TikTok sometimes rejects videos for policy reasons (duration, content, format). The failure reason from TikTok is shown where available. The video remains in your queue so you can review it.
